Hundreds filled The Grove of Anaheim Sunday night for the third annual Well Done Awards, a sort of Oscars for good-deed doers. It was night of entertainment and inspiration. welldoneblogpic1
“We’re gonna see what God is doing in the lives of ordinary people,” former LA Rams football player Jerry Wilkinson told the crowd.
American Idol finalist and music minister Phil Stacey got a standing ovation for a song he wrote about the American flag. Idol heartthrob Jason Castro, a worship leader himself, was in the house. And Idol’s official ”warm-up artist” Cory Almeida got the crowd fired up.
Among the award recipients were two guys who started the viral website I Am Second and Arthur Blessitt, the man who has carried a 12-foot cross 40,000 miles around the world.
Scott Rigsby, the first double amputee to finish an Ironman, got a standing ovation. “The Bible says: ‘When the day of trouble comes,’ not ‘if the day of trouble comes,’” Rigsby told the crowd. ”Everyone has a mountain to climb.’”ironman
Several dozen people took the stage to tell their amazing stories thoughout the show, the creation of Kingdom Assignment founders Denny and Leesa Bellesi. Some of them cried.
